ABOUT ECLECTIC MAMA
My mom, Eve, taught me to sew, knit and crochet, so when I started out making quilts and creating with fabric I called my small business Eve & Me to honour her. I sadly lost her far too early but sometimes feel her presence with me as i sit at my sewing machine. I hope she would be proud of me.
As Eve & Me was morphing into different areas I felt that I should change the name to be more suited to what I was doing. (Reflecting back now I think WHY?) Anyway how would I decide on a new name? There are so many places I have lived in, loved and left and so many different things I adore. The name Eclectic Mama seemed to hold together both the jumble of things I cherish, as well as who I am - a mother and a woman who is now residing in UK but whose roots are in Africa.
Colour brings such joy into life, and you will notice that by the paints and fabrics I have chosen! Texture speaks in many ways – it can be comforting, calming, sumptuous, even bubbly. I personally adore a boho type home with a mix of eclectic items that somehow seem to hang together. Please know that I am here to help you find your style, colour palette or fabric and present you with a professionally handmade piece that you will love and of whose workmanship I will be proud of!
About
As for the workshops – join me for a time of learning and making new friends in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. These are usually in East Riding of Yorkshire but sometimes travel to friends and family and will run a workshop there.
Wishing you inspiration to either spark your creativity or fill your home with gorgeous-ness as you browse through my website.
Blessings to you,
